Family law specialists AF Legal (ASX: AFL) has continued a major national expansion in recent months, today adding the Gold Coast to their national footprint with a new office to service Queensland’s second most populous region of 600,000 residents.
“Our move to the Gold Coast is our fourth expansion across South East Queensland. With our acquisition of Nita Stratton Funk in June 2019 (Brisbane CBD), followed by our entry into the Sunshine Coast Market in June this year (Caloundra and Maroochydore) our presence on the Gold Coast (Bundall) now positions us as the only specialist family law firm to service clients in all these heavily populated markets,” said AF Legal Executive Chairman, Grant Dearlove.
The addition of the new Gold Coast office comes just a week after AF Legal announced a new Melbourne office to be located in Preston, underpinned by Melbourne’s growth outlook where the city’s population is expected to surpass Sydney’s within five years.
Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, there has been increased attention to family legal matters, including divorce, as a subsequent event linked to mass lockdowns prompting increased time spent at home.
In an update to the market in October, AF Legal reported strong growth to deliver 34% growth in revenue to $2.4m for the quarter ending 30 September 2020 and a 73% increase in profit to $1.5m over the period.
AF Legal, aka Australian Family Lawyers, specialise in family-related legal matters including separation, divorce, children, child support and property settlement. The Company has also flagged a new Perth office to be opened in November 2020.
