Alcidion secures major UK hospital network for Patientrack health monitoring

Smart healthcare continues to make strides in the United Kingdom with healthtech company Alcidion (ASX: ALC) to deploy their Patientrack monitoring system across the NHS Lanarkshire, the third largest health board in Scotland.

With approximately 12,000 staff working across communities, health centres, clinics and three district hospitals, the 5-year agreement will see Alcidion roll out Patientrack across 1,250 beds in total.

“Across the NHS we continue to see Patientrack being adopted to support digital transformation initiatives, reinforcing its status as a leading solution for bedside monitoring,” said Alcidion Managing Director, Kate Quirke.

“We are delighted to see Patientrack being recognised by NHS Lanarkshire following our initial project at Monklands. The agreement highlights our value as a trusted solution partner, as well as the significant opportunity we have with NHS Scotland to support its digital health strategies in the long term.”

Using Patientrack, medical professionals are able to electronically record observations, produce charges and document a range of clinical assessments. Further, the live integration of human data and vital signs is able to calculate early warning signs within patients and generate clinical alerts for nearby staff.

As the first healthtech of its kind in Scotland, Patientrack will be used in NHS Lanarkshire’s command centre which enables managers to generate a real time overview of the status of their patients across all hospitals.

“This implementation of Patientrack will expand on what we have learned from the Monklands digital hospital initiative and its links to the command centre we have established at the current site,” said NHS Lanarkshire Director of Information and Digital Technology, Donald Wilson.

The NHS Lanarkshire contract is expected to deliver $1.52m over the 5-years and continues an impressive month for Alicidion which has also secured a $686k contract extension from Murrumbidgee LHD and a $1.3m contract extension from ACT Health.
