Another online casino launched as Pointsbet goes live with iGaming in West Virginia

Differentiating themselves from standard bookmakers, sports and wagering company PointsBet (ASX: PBH) continues to make strides with its online casinos business, adding West Virginia to the list of US States they can operate their iGaming app in.

The launch of the iGaming online casino in West Virginia comes just months after PointsBet secured regulatory approval to launch sports betting operations which now gives residents of the State full access to PointsBet’s betting and wagering products from the comfort of their homes.

“As PointsBet rapidly expands its presence across the U.S. and the online casino market continues to surge in popularity, we are thrilled to be able to now offer an online casino experience to users in West Virginia,” said PointsBet VP of Online Casino Revenue, Aaron O’Sullivan.

“It has been our goal to deliver the best-in-class casino content to our users in all of the states where we are permitted to offer the service.”

The attraction of online casinos has been accelerated by COVID-19 where Americans have sought their accessibility to avoid COVID hotspots like traditional casinos which have high population density.

With the launch, West Virginia joins the states of Michigan and New Jersey where PointsBet offers its iGaming platform where users can gamble with real money to play popular casino games like Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat and more.

By February 2022, PointsBet intends to have 30 online casino games available to West Virginia residents while it continues to develop the iGaming platform which has more than 120 casino games available in New Jersey and 100 in Michigan.

“It is an exciting time for the online casino market, and we’re proud to be able to tap into this momentum and introduce our proprietary product in West Virginia,” said Manjit Gombra Singh, PointsBet President of Product and Technology.

“We’re quickly scaling our business and have now integrated Scientific Games’ platform to expand our premium content portfolio. We’re looking forward to expanding and refining our suite of products throughout the year to deliver more options for our users in PointsBet online casinos.”

The launch of iGaming in West Virginia comes just two days after PointsBet accepted its first online bet in the State of New York which is expected to be one of the most lucrative States in the US, making them their 9th State for sportsbetting operations.
