Apps, not apples: NZ health food and smoothie bar seeks Plexure to develop new software and app

Popular New Zealand based juice and smoothie bar, TANK is looking to enhance the digital experience for their customers. Understanding that their expertise lies in apples and not apps, TANK has engaged software tech company Plexure (ASX: PX1) to design and create a proprietary software platform for their stores.

The package will include a completely new transaction management platform, updating their Point of Sale system to include integrated payments. The system will also encompass self service kiosks and online ordering capabilities for customers to get their juice pronto.

On the back-office side of things, the system will be capable of delivering real time reporting with fully built in configuration tools and a web API.

Joining Plexure on this project is TASK, a new subsidiary of Plexure providing enterprise solutions for service applications through their end-to-end transaction management platform. Current customers of TASK include Marvel Stadium, Starbucks and Baker’s Delight. The Company also recently inked a deal with Sydney’s Accor Stadium.

“It’s great to see our strategic planning coming to fruition and validating the inbound traction we are seeing in the market for the combined solution of the joint organisation,” said TASK General Manager, Dean Houden. “We look forward to a long-term relationship with TANK by helping the company leverage advancements in technology centred around a seamless experience for its customers. We’re proud to be partnering with such a well-established and recognised organisation.”

The new platform will also have the capability to drive sales and customer loyalty with the addition of a sophisticated loyalty program and targeted offers leveraging campaigns and segmentation. This feature gives the marketing team a great opportunity to engage with customers in a personalised way.

TANK Chief Financial Officer, Sam Holdem said: “We conducted a comprehensive review of the marketplace and TASK was a clear leader in all facets of their solution. Taking advantage of the Plexure personalisation suite, as part of the combined product set, is extremely exciting and we can’t wait to lead innovation and customer engagement in our segment, leveraging TASK and Plexure capabilities. We are looking forward to a long and rewarding partnership.”

Plexure has undergone a transformation in recent months, with staff costs and headcount down by 40% the Group has managed to lift their recurring revenue growth to over 20%. The Company remains well positioned to continue their transformation and string of contract wins with NZD $13 million cash at hand.
