ClearVue enters Scandinavian micro-home market amid favourable legislative proposals

Solar window product manufacturer ClearVue Technologies (ASX: CPV) is poised to enter the Scandinavian market following an exclusive Collaboration Agreement with Swedish micro-home developer Attefallshus.

The agreement will see Attefallshus apply ClearVue’s patented solar technology into glass surfaces which provide a source of renewable energy. 

“We are very much looking forward to collaborating with the Attefallshus team to deploy the ClearVue products into Attefallshus’ micro-home projects in Scandinavia (and elsewhere) and to demonstrating how the ClearVue PV product when integrated with locally powered smart façade solutions makes sense,” said ClearVue Executive Chairman, Victor Rosenberg. 

The micro-homes market in Sweden is gaining momentum with legislation in the final stages to increase permitting of micro-homes on land up to 30m², a rise from the current 25m² laws. With the likely legislative change coming, Attefallshus will be releasing new micro-home design modules in Q4 2019. 

The collaboration with ClearVue continues Attefallshus Founder Niklas Madden’s sustainability initiatives where he aims to reverse the effects of climate change, and the application of ClearVue’s solar PV lamination interlayers will advance those aims. 

“Whilst the power demands from these homes are typically considerably smaller than larger more traditional homes we would expect that the ClearVue product when deployed into these homes would typically also be used in conjunction with traditional PV to maximise power generation opportunities,” said Madden. 

“The ClearVue product is also ideally suited to the micro-home application because the ClearVue product design is typically triple or double glazed – which is the expectation for Scandinavia and the Northern European market. 

“Additionally, these multi-glazed designs also provide fantastic sound-proofing properties that benefit the property owner – a quiet environment being essential when you are living in such a small space.”

Through Summer months, Stockholm receives up to 17 hours of sunlight per day. 

The collaborative agreement with Attefallshus comes just one week after ClearVue announced the commercial rollout of its proprietary clear glass PV technology into the United States by partnering with prominent U.S. sustainable infrastructure specialist AquaGen.
