With data and cyberspace being the contemporary medium for international espionage, Australia is increasing its vigilance with a Commonwealth Intelligence Agency engaging cybersecurity firm archTIS (ASX: AR9) for an 8 week contract.
Over those 8 weeks, archTIS will run a Proof of Concept to implement policy-based access to movement of big data between agencies in real time which will provide customised access to big data.
“The real-time sharing of big data sets between different organisations is a complex problem at the best of times,” said archTIS CEO, Daniel Lai.
“And this challenge is further compounded when there are high information security and compliance obligations associated with the management and release of different data and data sets.”
“This is a significant global problem for Government agencies and I am delighted that archTIS is part of the solution.”
The 8 week contract, which is expected to commence in mid-September, is valued at a fixed price of $85,000, acting as a scoping exercise for archTIS to identify the data sharing needs and shortfalls within the Agency. Should the Proof of Concept be successful, further functionalities and services may be introduced in the future.
The contract follows up another similar data sharing contract which archTIS won in May 2020 to assist Curtin University’s space tracking data sharing challenges. Earlier in the week, archTIS also reported a contract awarded by global consultancy firm KPMG valued up to $400,000 for cybersecurity services.
