Gage Roads opens first taproom, microbrewery and hospitality venue

It is finally back to business as planned for Gage Roads Brewing (ASX: GRB) which today can open the doors of its first venue, Atomic Beer Project, after its original opening date was pushed back six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Located in Redfern, New South Wales, Atomic Beer Project is the first hospitality venue launched by Gage Roads which will assist the alcoholic beverage company with their planned multi-million dollar site development in Fremantle, Western Australia.

Located within an existing hospitality precinct and close to public transport, Atomic Beer Project can seat up to 200 people for dining and entertainment while showcasing a small craft brewery that brews Gage Roads products.

“We wanted to do things differently than the typical brew pub and we proudly stand out from the crowd with this venue. Atomic Beer Project Redfern gives consumers a tangible example of what the brand is about,” said Gage Roads Chief Strategy Officer, Aaron Heary.

“We’re confident that once people pay us a visit and experience what we have to offer, not only will they be back to the venue, but they will seek out our beers in other retail outlets.”

The opening of Atomic Beer Project is part of Gage Road’s venue strategy, which ties in with their national distribution business, Good Drinks, to significantly improve awareness of Gage Roads brands while driving increased retail sales on the east coast with the goal of the venues each delivering standalone financial returns.

As per COVID restrictions in New South Wales, the venue will launch with a reduced capacity of 85 patrons.

Committing to the strategy being undertaken by Gage Road, The Company has been steadily increasing its supply partners and retail sales, the Board and senior management team recently purchased $1.35m in GRB shares on-market at an average price of $0.05 per share.
