HeraMED Teams Up with Garmin to Transform Pregnancy Monitoring

Expanding Digital Maternity Care with Wearable Technology

HeraMED (ASX:HMD), a leader in digital maternity care, has secured a strategic collaboration with global smartwatch giant Garmin (NYSE:GRMN). The agreement enables seamless integration of Garmin’s smartwatch data into HeraMED’s remote pregnancy monitoring platform, HeraCARE—offering expectant mothers and healthcare providers a more comprehensive view of maternal health.

HeraMED CEO Anoushka Gungadin is confident about the impact of the partnership. “This is an incredibly exciting collaboration for HeraMED. Garmin is a globally recognised brand that has developed a specific smartwatch technology strategy for women. It is a significant step forward in our mission to revolutionise maternity care.”

Enhancing Health Data Access for Expectant Mothers

Through Garmin Health’s Application Programming Interface (API), users who consent to data sharing will be able to integrate key health metrics—including heart rate, sleep patterns, and fitness activity levels—into the HeraCARE platform.

“This collaboration is about bringing health and wellness data into our clinical-grade platform,” Gungadin said. “The additional data points will contribute to HeraMED’s ‘data-as-an-asset’ approach, with the potential to monitor steps for pregnant mothers with hypertensive or diabetic conditions and assess sleep quality for mental health care plans.”

The integration is expected to significantly enhance HeraCARE’s existing capabilities, which already include foetal and maternal heart rate monitoring, blood pressure tracking, and mood assessment.

Joint Marketing and Research Opportunities

Beyond data integration, HeraMED and Garmin will collaborate on marketing efforts to promote their combined digital health solutions. Additionally, the companies will explore research opportunities in women’s health, with a focus on maternity care.

“This strategic relationship will highlight how Garmin wearable data can extend beyond informing daily healthy habits to supporting pregnancy monitoring,” said Garmin Health’s Senior Director of Global B2B Sales, Joern Watzke. “By making smartwatch technology and advanced health data available for healthcare applications, we believe Garmin is truly helping change the future of women’s healthcare for the better.”

The partnership will initially run for three years, with either company able to withdraw with three months’ notice.

Long-Term Value

While the collaboration does not involve direct financial transactions, HeraMED sees significant value in the partnership. The expanded data integration is expected to strengthen HeraCARE’s market position, improve patient outcomes, and support the company’s long-term ‘data-as-an-asset’ strategy.

“This collaboration is about enriching our platform and enhancing the care experience for expectant mothers,” Gungadin said. “By leveraging Garmin’s sensor technology, we’re providing more real-time insights that empower both mothers and healthcare professionals.”

HeraMED’s latest move reinforces its commitment to digital health innovation, positioning the company at the forefront of the growing telehealth and maternity care sector.
