Inventis launches revolutionary Smart Chair, biggest chair development in 30 years

As the pandemic has brought major changes to working environments, droves of employees are spending more time at their desks, leading Inventis (ASX: IVT) to launch their G-Smart ‘Smart Chair’ – an ergonomic solution which integrates health tech into the humble office chair.

With sensors built into the chair that integrate with a smartphone app, users are notified when their posture puts their physical health at risk which will reduce the likelihood of developing deep vein thrombosis.

The chair is an extension of the Gregory Commercial Furniture line of products, named after Peter Gregory, a leading Australian physiotherapist who developed Gregory Chairs with a focus on office safety and ergonomics.

“It is a revolutionary idea in the commercial office space,” said Inventis Managing Director, Anthony Mankarios.

“It will change the way we do things at work, whether working from home or in the office, this new Ergonomic Smart Chair will provide an added benefit helping those who suffer from chronic back pain or fatigue manage their posture and ensure adequate movement is maintained during their busy work day.”

The G-Chair is the next upgrade from Gregory’s existing MyChair which is already prominently used in Government and Corporate sectors while also commonly recommended by physiotherapists. As part of Inventis’ marketing initiatives to accelerate the launch, the Company will be waiving the $100 price difference to encourage workers to purchase the new G-Smart which Inventis is hoping will become the new benchmark for Workplace Health & Safety professionals.

For the Quarter ending 30 June 2020, Inventis reported $2.1m in revenue of their ergonomic and safety solutions, a period where the Company also acquired Bassett Furniture for $319k, a commercial manufacturer of soft seating and lounges.

Through the Gregory Chairs website, customers can build their own chair incorporating various seats, backs, headrests and armrests which are then constructed using patented technology to maximise back and posture safety.
