Mogul riding eSports phenomenon with launch of Branded Leagues

Set to capitalise on the billion dollar eSports industry, Esports Mogul (ASX: ESH) will host its first branded league on 13 September, 2019 for partner Alliance, which will offer a $100,000 cash prize for players of their Dota 2 Alliance League.

More than 80 teams consisting of over 400 individual players have already subscribed to the branded league which enables clients to create their own eSports Branded Leagues and Branded Tournaments using Mogul’s tournament and matchmaker automation platform.

“Commencing the first Branded League on the Mogul platform is a significant milestone for the platform, and we are especially pleased that this is with Alliance. Hosting the Alliance League on the Mogul platform represents an industry-first achievement for Mogul.” said Mogul Managing Director, Gernot Abl.

Using the Mogul’s Branded Hub platform, gamers are invited to join dedicated playing channels via paid subscriptions which include priority tournament registration, member tournaments and other prizes which can be allocated by the Hub owner.

Whilst the Alliance Branded League will be used for Dota 2 – a multiplayer online battle arena game played by millions of players worldwide – other popular eSports games League of Legends, CS:GO and Starcraft II can also be integrated into the Mogul platforms.

Highlighting the value of the rapidly rising eSports industry, The International, an annual DOTA 2 tournament, was held in 2019 with  total prize pool of US$34 million.

Last month, Australian teenager, Anathan ‘Ana’ Pham, 19 won  $4.62 million when claiming The International for his team, OG, and becoming the first team to win The International twice.
