Newly rebranded xReality Group’s military VR business division progresses

Having just undergone a full rebrand to match their new business direction, xReality Group (formerly ISA Group), now trading under the ticker code ASX: XRG, are making headway in their Defence focused business division.

The refocused Company released a market update on the Operator Tactical Solutions business unit which creates virtual reality products for training of military personnel, teaching them to handle high stress situations and improve skills in a low risk setting.

Operator is a wholly owned subsidiary of xReality, with three products progressing through development.

OP-1 Virtual Reality Tactical Trainer (VRTT) allows for Close Quarter Battle (CQB) tactical training that can be used securely in any location, integrating with existing equipment and weaponry on the soldiers in real time. The product is currently undergoing internal testing with end user evaluations scheduled for early 2022.

The OP-1 Mission Rehearsal System caters to mission-centric training, simulating real world locations and targets. This tech will hopefully add a new layer to mission planning and have rapidly developed targets available for input to assist with time sensitive mission planning. A demonstration of this system is expected mid-way through next year.

Finally, the OP-1 Weapons Integration System (WIP), currently a prototype product being tested on a handful of weapons, will let soldiers train on any OP-1 training system using their own weapons. The ability to train on their own equipment is especially important for Special Forces and Advanced Infantry soldiers who work with specialised and personalised gear. Integrated stats, data and weapon tracking are key to reflecting and improving performance. The tech will be drip fed to the market, with a handful of units expected to be produced for end user testing in early 2022, followed by a larger production run later.

Operator is planning on showcasing their new products at the Military Communications and Information Systems conference which will be held in Canberra over February 22nd-24th.

CEO Wayne Jones commented on the progress update, saying: “With the initial development phase complete, the company is now in a position to conduct thorough testing on the hardware and technology. Once our internal team is satisfied with the trials, we will be introducing the equipment to Australian military and law enforcement units for further evaluation and improvements early in the new year. The current timeline sees the completion of the Testing and Evaluation phase by the end of March 2022, commencing the go-to-market phase the following month.”
