Old trackies are comfy, old work ideas aren’t: how one company is revolutionising digital wellbeing

Pyjama pant clad Zoom meetings are here to stay (I’m wearing spotty ones today, thanks for asking).

The new way we work is uncharted territory for many companies with managers forced to learn on the fly and adapt to the new normal. While we may be hitting our stride on the productivity side of things, we still have a way to go in terms of adapting company culture.

According to a Microsoft study, 60% of workers feel less connected with their team since moving to remote work. Despite employees wanting remote work, we also want connection and the camaraderie that comes with the office.

The solution? We need to stop thinking of work as a place and look towards how we can maintain culture, connect employees and harness ingenuity, digitally.

Limeade (ASX: LME) gets it. The science-based wellbeing company specialises in using AI to support employee wellbeing. By ‘infusing care’ (the copywriter who wrote that deserves a raise!) into digital platforms, Limeade forms better connections amongst teams, provides resources for individuals at all levels and provides managers with insights into their team’s wellbeing.

Microsoft Viva is an employee experience platform that can be accessed through Microsoft Teams. The platform brings together communications, knowledge, learning, resources and insights for improved workflow and connection. In a new collaboration, Limeade will be integrating their science based wellbeing content into Microsoft Viva giving users personalised access to activities such as exercise challenges, manager support toolkits, workplace inclusion lessons, social connections and more.

Henry Albrecht, CEO of Limeade said: “ The world of work has forever changed. Given everything we’ve been through the past year and a half, it’s time to reset how we approach the employee experience.

“Limeade is aligned with Microsoft in recognising that well-being is at the heart of a healthy employee experience. It can’t be something that’s neglected or left for the end of a busy and stressful day. It’s time we leverage the power of technology to be intentional about taking better care of ourselves and others- in the natural course of our day-to-day interactions.”

Seth Patton, General Manager of Microsoft 365 Next Gen Productivity and Employee experience at Microsoft also commented: “Limeade brings 15 years of insights and innovation- from wellbeing surveys, fitness trackers, biometrics and more- to promote personalised, in-the-moment wellbeing experiences into the flow of work. This collaboration further helps Microsoft customers get moving and connect to relevant company benefits to reduce burnout and boost energy.”

Limeade is expecting to integrate their tech into Microsoft Viva by October.
