While COVID-19 continues to ravage the United States, virtual visits to loved ones in hospitals has been facilitated by healthcare tech company Oneview Healthcare (ASX: ONE) whose bedside tech has been selected by Samsung SDS America Inc for further distribution through North America.
Samsung SDSA is the enterprise IT solutions provider of global tech giant Samsung and has entered into a Distribution Agreement to distribute Oneview’s Cloud Start through the United States. The digital bedside service runs exclusively on Samsung tablets and enables virtual rounding, virtual visitation and virtual translation to minimise the risk of COVID transmission through hospitals.
“Our partnership with Samsung provides a unique opportunity to address new virtual models of care and provide the solution for Samsung SDSA to enhance the value proposition for their reseller network,” said Oneview CEO, James Fitter.
Beyond the hospital-specific apps on the platform, users also have access to education delivery, meal ordering and patient service requests.
Initially, the platform was rolled out across 4 hospitals in New York at the height of the COVID crisis where New York was initially one of the worst-hit States in America.
“With the US health system focused on continually improving the patient care experience, Samsung SDSA is committed to providing mobile-focused solutions to help serve our customers,” said Mingu Lee, Chief Business Officer and Senior Vice President, Samsung SDS America.
“Our distribution partnership with Oneview Healthcare enables us to deliver a more cost-effective and impactful solution, allowing caregivers to work efficiently while providing a connected experience for patients.”
For the Quarter ending 31 December 2020, Oneview reported cash receipts of €2.72 million which represented a 14% increase on their previous corresponding period with their devices live across 9,259 beds at the time and 2,555 contracted for installation.
The Company has also recently launched a AUD $21.4 million lawsuit against Regis Healthcare claiming breaches to a Collaboration Agreement and deceptive conduct.
