The Food Revolution Group wants to revolutionise your morning smoothie

The Food Revolution Group wants to revolutionise your morning smoothie

Since being inaugurated into the world of full time work my mornings have become increasingly frantic. There’s only so much you can fit in before 9 and after 5 whilst getting adequate rest, exercise and maintaining some semblance of a social life… Eating well sometimes falls to the bottom of the list in favour of the most time efficient thing in the fridge. In an effort to keep all the balls in the air I have adopted a ritualistic smoothie as my breakfast of choice on weekday mornings. There’s nothing that says “I’ve got my life together” quite like sipping on a healthy smoothie while you walk your dog after a gym class, all before 8am.

For those who want to follow in this trusty journo’s footsteps for a kick ass morning there is The Food Revolution Group’s (ASX: FOD) new range of plant-based smoothies.

The Company has experienced continued growth across their range and distribution agreements. Their brand Juice Lab has already seen success with their wellness shot and carbonated drinks range. Juice Lab now has a 55% market share in the wellness shot segment alongside brands like Mojo (27%) and Remedy (12%). Juice Lab carbonated wellness drinks are now being stocked in both Coles and Woolworths supermarkets across the country to a total of 74% of all stores.

The newest addition to the brand’s products is a proprietary 100% plant-based smoothie using fava bean protein. The new smoothie range will address the growing demand in the plant-based sector for nutritious, convenient foods with the initial range containing 16 grams of protein per serve.

Fellow smoothie enthusiast and CEO of FOD, Steven Cail said: “The new Smoothies range is another great healthy product initiative, signifying a significant expansion of our Juice Lab wellness offering into the new high growth plant protein segment. There are many challenges incorporating plant protein in a way that meets consumer taste expectations and I’m incredibly proud of our R&D team who have broken new ground delivering a first to market protein smoothie using fava bean protein. The company’s agile R&D team, combined with our ability to adapt our manufacturing capabilities, means that we are able to quickly recognise trends and develop products giving us the advantage of being first to market.”

With two flavours- choc raspberry and banana cinnamon the smoothies are expected to hit shelves in late February 2022 at Coles stores. Wider distribution is expected in June 2022.
