UNITH unveils a trio of GPT-powered Digital Humans for public showcase

Artificial Intelligence (AI) company UNITH (ASX: UNT) has ticked off a major development milestone in its 2023 Technological Roadmap with the launch of three digital humans that are integrated with GPT technology.

The digital humans are available on UNITH’s website for public demonstration and engagement and were built from a scalable module in the tech stack that enables users to generate their own digital human with minimal tech experience.

One is AIKO, acting as UNITH’s spokesperson. AIKO, which stands for Artificial Intelligence Knowledge Operator, is the scalable module that can be customised by UNITH clients to present a desired visual appearance, sound and language. AIKO’s infrastructure is powered by GPT technology, delivering conversational AI based on a set of information uploaded by the client, such as a product catalogue, employee handbook, or business website.

To illustrate how digital humans can be rapidly deployed for clients, UNITH has scaled the AIKO module to generate the other two digital humans, LAIA – a Barcelona Tour Guide and Julia  – a HR employee programmed to guide conversations around onboarding. AIKO, LAIA and Julia can answer questions about their dedicated purpose such as list customers (AIKO), metro ticket price (LAIA), and product recommendations (Julia).

UNITH developers had minimal backend involvement in this process, achieving the development milestone set for AIKO that lets clients generate their own digital humans for integration into their website. Moreover, the AIKO public demo signifies UNITH’s on-track advancement towards launching their initial self-service go-to-market offering by December 2023.

Commenting on the development milestone, UNITH CEO Idan Schmorak said: “The self-service platform will address a large unmet need for businesses who will be able to generate their own digital humans without minimal-to-no tech experience.”

Schmorak also credited the development team for being able to release a fully functional digital human user dashboard ahead of schedule, which will benefit UNITH’s commercialisation strategy of presenting the interface to prospective clients.

The AIKO technology will allow prospective clients to create their own digital human within the platform from a basic dashboard. The basic service allows the digital human to serve its intended business function, such as sales or customer support. Users can upload preferred data like documents and choose visual and audio preferences, enabling digital humans to respond based on this input.

UNITH’s digital humans can converse with thousands of customers at once, be integrated into any website for use on any device, and operate 24/7 with analytics and logs recorded for clients. The technology is well-equipped to ensure consistent graphics and functionality across various devices, even on low-cost devices.

The platform is expected to operate under a freemium model at commencement, but will be kept affordable to accommodate businesses of all sizes with added customisation features. For example, higher subscription tiers may offer more languages, given the platform’s digital humans can converse in over 60 languages.

A digital human platform developer, UNITH dedicated resources to research and develop facial movement deep learning, audio machine learning, and conversational design, to create the first customisable interactive digital humans of its kind. UNITH targets businesses seeking for cost-effective customer interactions and automated tasks using digital humans. This approach streamlines operations and offers multilingual capabilities through one full-stack platform.
