West Australians can now order ethically raised beef and lamb online with next day delivery courtesy of Wide Open Agriculture’s (ASX: WOA) new online sales platform – ‘Dirty Clean Food’.
Via the regenerative food and farming company’s new website, Perth-based consumers have access to this direct paddock-to-plate platform without going through traditional retailers.
100% grass fed beef and lamb is available with various types of cuts available.
“We are thrilled to offer customers the opportunity to buy Dirty Clean Food’s exclusive range of regeneratively farmed food, starting with local regenerative beef and lamb, with plant-based products to follow,” said Managing Director Ben Cole.
“This new brand connects consumers to farmers who are committed to regenerative practices that rehabilitate and enhance the entire ecosystem of the land, so customers can buy delicious, nutritious food from land that’s healthy and getting healthier. “
The new platform is expected to increase Wide Open Agriculture’s revenue further after the Company launched their business-to-business distribution platform in May 2019. Through the B2B platform, WOA secured 25 West Australian restaurants and food outlets and reported $28,133 in sales for the Quarter ending 30 June, 2019 – 92.8% of the WOA’s sales in the year to date.
Key to Wide Open Agriculture’s supply is the ethos of regenerative farming which strays away from the chemical means which has done significant damage to arable land over the past century. Instead, the process of regenerative farming involves repairing distressed farmland and maintaining it ethically via controlled grazing programs.
Over the past 60 years, annual crop yields have doubled in Australia but this has been done using just 11 per cent more farmland, highlighting the impending need to regenerate the limited arable land still available in Australia.
Wide Open Agriculture intends to release sales data for their Dirty Clean Food retail platform in the near future.
