I recently bought a gorgeous coat from an American website. This thing has travelled the world, having been made in Italy before making its way to some warehouse in the States and finally, to protect me from the Melbourne cold. When you think about it, the air miles on this thing are insane. Aside from the Italian artisans that put this stunning garment together I have to give thanks to the complex logistics systems that got it from A to B to C and eventually, me.
Praise to the logistics gods in Australia looks more like praise to Yojee (ASX: YOJ), a software company that has developed a logistics platform to facilitate the seamless transportation of freight within a single ecosystem.
The Company aims to take the pain out of land transport and reduce carbon emissions as well as overheads to businesses, namely third-party logistics providers and subcontractors.
The latest business to sign on with Yojee is Hawk Logistics.
Since 2011, Hawk has been providing logistics services including refrigerated and ambient transportation and storage to major Australian retailers across the country.
Hawk has invested in their growth, with 300 staff members and depots now in NSW, Victoria and South Australia. Not only has Hawk expanded their physical infrastructure, but a new partnership with Yojee will see them grow their digital infrastructure too.
Hawk has signed a two year agreement with Yojee for use of their online logistics platform to support operations across their business.
The agreement includes a minimum monthly spend by the logistics company, as well as an additional variable fee based on the number of goods movements.
Managing Director of Yojee, Ed Clarke said: “We are very pleased to begin working with Hawk who operate with a technology forward ethos. Our technology fits well with their aggressive growth plans as presented to us.
“Our developing relationship with Hawk Logistics also highlights an important aspect of our own pathways to attain growth. With many customers coming through network referrals and introductions, we gain confidence in our product and its application and value in this large global industry.”
Yojee’s cloud-based platform allows for better journey planning and can integrate through APIs into existing logistics provider systems to access and share key data on all parts of the goods journey. By removing the traditionally paper-heavy processes, the Company is improving logistics providers’ efficiency and reducing their environmental impact.
The Company has signed multiple agreements with four global top 10 freight forwarders operating in the Asia Pacific region and intend on continuing their trajectory of growth as more logistics and freight companies realise their shortcomings in the wake of COVID’s impacts on global supply chains.
