RLF AgTech expands to Vietnam with five-year $3.3 million Kona deal

In a move to revolutionise Vietnam’s agricultural sector, tech-driven plant nutrition company RLF AgTech (ASX: RLF) has announced a groundbreaking distribution agreement with Kona, a prominent distributor of agricultural products in the country. The deal, valued at $3.3 million over a span of five years, is set to transform the landscape of crop cultivation and provide farmers with enhanced solutions to maximize their yields.

Vietnam, a country heavily reliant on agriculture, sees approximately 70% of its agricultural sector composed of small-scale farmers with less than two hectares of land. Recognising the potential for growth and improvement in this sector, RLF AgTech has teamed up with Kona to bring specialised crop nutrition products to the market. These products aim to enhance the quality and productivity of crops, empowering farmers to achieve higher yields and cultivate more nutritious produce.

The agreement grants RLF AgTech access to Kona’s extensive distribution network, comprising over 400 outlets across Vietnam. This strategic partnership enables RLF AgTech to reach a broader customer base, effectively expanding its market presence and solidifying its position as a leader in Southeast Asia.

Managing Director of RLF AgTech, Ken Hancock, said, “We are delighted to announce our distribution partnership with Kona in Vietnam. This marks a significant milestone in our sales network expansion within Southeast Asia and the broader region. Kona’s reputation as a progressive and dynamic marketer in this valuable market makes them an ideal partner to represent RLF products. With our innovative technology and Kona’s dedicated support, we look forward to driving market visibility and delivering cutting-edge solutions to Vietnamese farmers.”

RLF AgTech leverages the intersection of plant science, advanced chemistry, and manufacturing practices to develop high-quality plant nutrition products for commercial agriculture. At the core of RLF’s offering is their pioneering Plant Proton Delivery Technology, which facilitates higher yields, improved crop quality, and increased nutrient content in produce. Furthermore, this technology aids in the plants’ natural ability to store carbon and reduce atmospheric emissions, making it an environmentally sustainable choice for farmers.

Cong Ty Tnhh Kona Crop Science., Ltd., a Vietnamese company specializing in agricultural inputs, such as pesticides, foliar fertilizers, and organic fertilizers, will serve as the key distributor for RLF AgTech’s products in Vietnam. By collaborating closely with Kona’s experienced sales and technical teams, RLF AgTech aims to raise awareness about its innovative technology and provide comprehensive support to Kona’s retailer network.

RLF AgTech has demonstrated its commitment to the Vietnamese market through the establishment of its Ho Chi Minh office in November 2022. This local presence has not only facilitated the recruitment of skilled Vietnamese personnel but has also allowed RLF AgTech to obtain crucial local product registrations. With a dedicated local team working hand in hand with Kona, RLF AgTech is poised to make significant strides in promoting its advanced agricultural solutions across Vietnam.

As Vietnam’s agricultural landscape prepares to undergo a transformation, RLF AgTech and Kona stand at the forefront, ready to empower farmers with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive global market. The partnership between these industry leaders promises to shape the future of crop cultivation in Vietnam, enabling farmers to squeeze the most out of their land and achieve sustainable agricultural success.
