dorsaVi secures $110k in contracts across mining, healthcare, and shipping sectors

Meticulous gathering and analysing of data is not limited to numbers or computers alone; it has now expanded to the realm of human physiology too. Now, imagine a world where every limb movement can be measured and analysed to optimise performance, prevent injuries and enhance workplace safety.

This is the realm of dorsaVi (ASX: DVL), where sensor technology transcends the confines of traditional labs to empower industries from mining and healthcare to shipping with real-time insights and actionable intelligence.

dorsaVi, a company specialising in wearable sensors and human movement analytics, has scored new contracts totaling approximately $110k with major enterprises across the mining, healthcare, and shipping sectors. These contracts are facilitated through a commercial agreement with a leading Australian insurer.

By eliminating the need for traditional laboratory settings, dorsaVi’s wearable sensor technology will aid to deliver lab-quality data through a wireless, user-friendly platform. This achievement was facilitated through a strategic partnership with a leading Australian insurer, expanding dorsaVi’s market reach and demonstrating the growing demand for its innovative solutions.

These contracts will leverage dorsaVi’s advanced sensor technology and video analytics to identify and mitigate workplace injuries. The acquisition of these contracts position it as a wearable sensor technology and its ability to address critical safety challenges across diverse industries. By demonstrating the effectiveness of its solutions in preventing musculoskeletal injuries, dorsaVi is solidifying its market presence.

CEO Dr. Andrew Ronchi said “These new customer wins represent an exciting expansion of our work on preventing musculoskeletal injuries using wearable sensors and video algorithms and validates our technology and commercialisation strategy.

“We look forward to demonstrating the efficacy and value of our technology and leverage this success to drive new growth whilst making impactful contributions in reducing workplace injuries.”

In July 2024, dorsaVi completed a clinical study in partnership with Norton Healthcare, generating approximately $100,000 in sponsored research over 24 months. Using their wearable sensor technology, dorsaVi collaborated with Norton’s clinical research team, led by Dr. Steven Glassman, to study spinal motion and movement patterns. This research enhances dorsaVi’s product line, strengthens client relationships, and diversifies its revenue streams in musculoskeletal health applications.

In the first half of FY24, dorsaVi reported sales revenue of $610k, reflecting a decrease of 31.5% compared to H1 FY23.
