Entrepreneur eyes virtual fast food to counter virtual fitness boom

With populations locked up in their homes, there has been a spike in virtual fitness which has opened the door for entrepreneur Hugh Honey’s new venture that will enable lazy Australians to experience all the pleasures of junk food and indulgence within the comfort of their homes.

The idea came to Honey after seeing news of Zwift securing $625m in funding by bringing video of popular cycling tours to virtual reality which can then be linked to an in-home exercise bike for an immersive experience.

Conscious of the enormous market being overlooked by Zwift that really don’t want to go cycling, Honey is preparing to launch Comfee – a virtual reality experience at all of your favourite fast food restaurants.

Linking with popular food delivery services like Uber Eats, customers will be sent a video link upon ordering their indulgences with the live stream to replicate being inside the fast food restaurant.

“Part of fast food is the experience of being in the restaurant so we bring that to you with your order,” said Honey.

“Once you place the order online, you can turn on your stream and there will be a dirty table in front of you where you can also hear the loud whining of fellow customers, the high-pitched screams of children and shouting from the kitchen.

“Then when the delivery driver arrives, it’s just like having your meal served straight to your table.”

Honey has already commenced the process of gathering stock footage at all his favourite fast food outlets which will be uploaded to the Comfee virtual reality platform.

He is hoping to secure funding through partnerships with fast food businesses that will offer him free food in lieu of cash investments.
