Green360 Technologies (ASX:GT3) has taken a major step forward in the commercialisation of its low-carbon cement replacement product Eco-Clay, signing a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd for supply into Holcim’s Victorian concrete operations.
The agreement marks the first named commercial customer for Eco-Clay and comes just weeks after Green360 completed first commercial production at Calix Limited’s Bacchus Marsh facility in Victoria. Under the MOU, Green360 subsidiary Suvo Minerals Australia Pty Ltd is expected to supply up to 4,800 tonnes of Eco-Clay over an initial 12-month period, with the parties targeting a binding supply agreement within 90 days.
The deal represents a significant milestone for Green360 as it moves rapidly from development into commercial deployment. In just seven weeks, the company has executed a binding Toll Treatment Agreement with Calix, completed first commercial production and now secured its first commercial customer.
Holcim is one of the world’s largest building materials companies, operating across 45 markets globally with 2025 net sales of CHF15.7 billion. Through its Australian operations, Holcim supplies concrete and aggregates into major infrastructure and construction projects nationwide and has been actively expanding its lower-carbon concrete offerings through its ECOPact product range.
The partnership is strategically important for Green360 because Holcim is considered one of the most sophisticated buyers of supplementary cementitious materials in Australia. Holcim Group has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and continues to seek scalable alternatives capable of reducing the carbon intensity of concrete production.
Eco-Clay is designed specifically for this opportunity. The product is a high-reactivity metakaolin material capable of replacing up to 40 per cent of traditional Portland cement in concrete mixes while maintaining performance characteristics.
Unlike Portland cement, which requires kiln temperatures of around 1,450 degrees Celsius, Eco-Clay is produced by calcining kaolin material at approximately 750 degrees Celsius, materially reducing energy intensity and associated emissions. The product is manufactured using Green360’s own kaolin by-products, including tailings and settlement pond residues generated during high-purity kaolin refining.
This circular economy approach transforms industrial waste streams into a commercially valuable low-carbon construction material at a time when global demand for sustainable building inputs is accelerating.
Green360 Executive Chairman Aaron Banks described the agreement as a defining commercial milestone for the company.
“Securing Holcim as our first commercial customer for Eco-Clay is a significant milestone for Green360,” Banks said.
“Holcim is one of the most sophisticated buyers of supplementary cementitious materials in Australia and their decision to partner with Green360 is a direct reflection of the quality of Eco-Clay and the capability of the supply chain we have built with Calix.”
Banks added that the company expects the MOU to act as a catalyst for additional commercial agreements as the market increasingly seeks scalable, domestic low-carbon cement alternatives.
The agreement also validates Green360’s capital-light commercialisation strategy. Under the Toll Treatment Agreement signed with Calix in March 2026, Eco-Clay is manufactured at Calix’s Bacchus Marsh facility, providing Green360 with access to up to 30,000 tonnes per annum of calcination capacity without the need for significant upfront infrastructure expenditure.
Commercial production commenced in April, with Green360 successfully producing 150 tonnes during a single continuous production run. The company said more than 600 tonnes have now been manufactured and distributed to concrete suppliers across Victoria for commercial-scale field validation.
The Holcim MOU now provides a direct commercial pathway for that production.
Under the proposed terms, Eco-Clay will be supplied at a fixed price per tonne and will need to meet agreed technical compliance standards. While the commercial supply terms remain non-binding at this stage, provisions relating to confidentiality, technical compliance and media releases are legally binding.
The agreement highlights growing industry momentum toward low-carbon concrete solutions as governments, infrastructure groups and construction companies increasingly focus on reducing embodied carbon in the built environment.
For Green360, the Holcim agreement provides both immediate commercial validation and a potential benchmark for broader adoption across the Australian construction sector.
With commercial production established, an operating manufacturing pathway secured through Calix, and now a global building materials leader engaged as its first customer, Green360 appears to be entering the next phase of Eco-Clay’s market rollout.
