Meghan Markle gracefully withdraws from Nobel Prize consideration

Following the successful release of her children’s book The Bench’, author Meghan Markle has withdrawn herself from Nobel Prize consideration to give her fellow literary masterminds a level playing field not impacted by her public profile.

With the Duchess of Sussex now adding ‘author’ to her decorated career as an actor, producer and now Non-Royal, sources close to the family confirmed that Markle did not want her literary career to overshadow her on-screen successes.

“Departing the Royal Family was all about taking a step back from the public spotlight so she didn’t feel the need to accept the many literary awards that are coming her way,” said one of her aides.

“It just wouldn’t be fair for Pablo Neruda or Ernest Hemmingway to have their work overshadowed by ‘The Bench’ if Meghan was to join them as winners of the Nobel Prize in Literature.”

‘The Bench’ sold 3,212 copies in its first week of sales.
