A small Latino family business has hit the jackpot after discovering mouldy cheese and rotten fish hidden throughout the White House as part of what had been a basic cleaning contract prior to the arrival of newly inaugurated President, Joe Biden.
The work had originally just covered steam cleaning of all carpets which had been deeply stained by fake tan but quickly became much more lucrative after Martina Martinez felt some shifty floorboards under carpeting during the clean.
On deeper inspection, Martinez lifted the carpet to find a dozen rotten fish hidden under the floorboards and quickly alerted White House management.
Upon further inspection of other rooms, Martinez and her family found scores of mouldy cheese jammed into vents and rotten fish in the floors of most rooms.
Thanking Matinez for finding the spoilt food prior to Biden’s uptake of the Oval Office, White House aides have rewarded Martinez and her family with an extensive contract to remove all mouldy cheese and rotten fish from the White House in the biggest contract ever received by the family-run cleaning business.
“I don’t know who left all this rotten food everywhere but if I did, I would very much like to thank them,” said Martinez.
“We came here thinking we just needed to steam clean some fake tan out of the carpets but with all of this extra work, we can finally start living a bit more comfortably.”
White House representatives elected not to offer any comment about how the rotten fish or mouldy cheese was hidden in the White House or who the last occupants were.
