Unemployed dole bludgers have emerged as big winners from the 2022 Federal Budget with confirmation that job-seekers would receive a one-off $250 cash payment as part of the Treasury’s attempt to even wealth distribution and counter cost-of-living increases.
In total, 6 million Australians will receive the $250 cash payment which has created a new sub-economy in some regions touted to benefit most from the sudden cash injection.
Welcoming the Federal Budget was small business owner Hugh Honey who runs a network of independent distributors throughout regional towns of Morwell, Drouin and Moe.
“It’s great that people in these towns are being rewarded for the efforts they are putting into securing a job,” said Honey.
“We know it’s tough out there so the huge injection they’ll be getting will be a big boost for the local economy and we’ll be there to assist them in any way we can.
“If we can just sprinkle a little bit of success in their direction, I am sure the $250 they’ll all get will go a long way towards their job prospects.”
