The veterinary profession is in a state of flux. Whilst highly rewarding, the high-pressure demands of the job are testing, and often associated with a high risk of poor mental health.
With increased society wide focus on mental health and wellbeing in recent years, awareness of what vets go through behind closed doors is on the rise, however, awareness only does so much.
The wheels of change are slow, but the industry has implemented several initiatives to highlight these issues and support vets. More impressive though, are the companies creating a culture of wellbeing, investing time and capital into creating the best possible work environment for their staff.
