Despite the supposed influence Meghan Markle possesses, shares in tech company Zoom (NASDAQ: ZM) remained unfazed after she blamed the video meeting tech as a reason for not attending Prince Phillip’s funeral.
Markle’s initial reason for not accompanying her husband to the funeral was the fact she is 6-months pregnant and a flight to London and back was too high risk. Upon her polite decline to attend, an offer had been made to attend the funeral via a Zoom call, however a source close to the Markle has been asked to prepare a statement blaming the software as her reason for not attending.
The funeral service is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 17 April.
Upon request for comment, a Zoom representative laughed and hung up.
