Demand for digital humans rising as UNITH catches the attention of public sector

Demand for digital humans rising as UNITH catches the attention of public sector

Cost-cutting is traditionally the vernacular of the private sector where savings ultimately lead to profit but such business acumen is now creeping into the public sector which is catching wind of the reliability and efficiency of digital humans which could soon replace many public servants.

This is the nature of digital humans according to artificial intelligence company UNITH (ASX: UNT) which has confirmed it is in fresh discussions with public sector organisations keen to engage UNITH digital humans.

One of the primary reasons behind the surge in interest for UNITH’s Digital Humans is the substantial cost savings they offer. Traditional labour often incurs ongoing expenses such as salaries, benefits, training, and equipment, all of which can strain an organisation’s budget. By employing digital humans, businesses can significantly reduce these costs while maintaining high levels of productivity and customer satisfaction.

As organisations worldwide seek innovative solutions to optimise their operations, the allure of Digital Humans lies in their ability to deliver exceptional services around the clock without fatigue or downtime. Moreover, these virtual entities can be seamlessly deployed across various platforms, including websites, mobile apps, and even social media channels.

Increased interest in UNITH’s has come after the Company increased its commercial team having launched its Digital Human platform, which quickly secured a deal from one of the Big Five tech companies (Apple, Amazon, Google, Meta or Microsoft). Since then further interest has come in the form of smaller companies including a deal earlier in the month with eLotteries company AZBillions, but interest from the public sector has been elusive until now.

“With an expanded team in place, we have been able to increase our business development efforts and have successfully established a robust sales pipeline with several opportunities currently under discussion,” said UNITH CEO, Idan Schmorak.

“Excitingly, these opportunities cover a range of industries, within public and private sectors, demonstrating the broad spectrum of potential applications for UNITH’s technology.”

Further details of the discussions were not disclosed by UNITH which is becoming customary for the Company given the sensitive nature of their technology which is proving efficient in replacing traditional labour.

The digital humans are powered with conversational AI and integrated with GPT technology which enable them to respond immediately to queries, just as if they were a real person.

These AI-powered entities have been lauded for their ability to handle routine tasks, resolve customer inquiries, and conduct repetitive operations with unparalleled accuracy, thus freeing up human employees to focus on more complex and strategic responsibilities.

Unlike text-only chatbots though, UNITH’s digital humans also have visual interfaces that look like real humans while their audio is generated by synthetic voice cloning. Each digital human is essentially programmed to look and sound like a human in the region they are deployed to, with UNITH’s platform capable of generating conversational AI in more than 60 languages.

The deal with AZBillions for example will roll out its first digital human in Latin America as a customer service agent proficient in Spanish, programmed to respond to enquiries, answer technical questions and upsell products.

“Our progress and achievements with the digital humans continue to redefine customer interactions and provide a cost-effective solution for our clients,” added Schmorak.

We have an exciting year ahead, and I look forward to keeping you up to date on our progress as we get closer to launching our self-service platform, and delivering on new sales.”

On the other side of the world in Japan, UNITH is set to launch a range of digital humans to kiosks through a collaboration with AI partner NVISO that are integrated with emotional intelligence and facial recognition. The project has received a €74,000 grant under the BonsApps program which is a Euro-based consortium focusing on AI and digital technology to solve real-world industry challenges at the deep edge that requires AI.

For the 12 months ended 30 June 2023, UNITH reported $1.2m in operating cash outflows but is well funded to accelerate its commercial growth with $4.3m cash on hand as discussions continue progressing with prospective clients in the public and private sectors.
