Upon news that the Australian Government will be handing out $25k grants to build new homes or renovate existing ones, building company owner Hugh Honey has confirmed that all renovation and new home quotes being issued will have a $25k admin fee.
With existing homeowners to get the $25k for renovations as long as the total cost of them exceeds $150,000, Honey expects prospective clients to understand, and has even offered alternative services within the quotes for prospective renovators to meet the minimum $150k spend.
“Good on ScoMo for trying to help us out but $150k is an insane amount of money to be spending on home renovations and most common folk understand that. It’s why I’m willing to help anyone out who uses Honey Construction by making up the cost in other ways,” said Honey.
“If you just want a patio re-done, it would normally be about $30k. We’ll do it for $25k, take the $25k stimulus and Ricky over there, will put on $100k worth of bets down at the TAB for you over the next year.”
“Boom, you’ve got your $150k quote, you’re keeping Ricky in a job and you’ve just got yourself a schmick new patio.”
Following his interview on breakfast radio, Honey Construction has been inundated with phone calls.
