ClearVue powers up sustainability with repeat order from Greenhouse System USA

With environmental challenges on the rise, reducing carbon-footprints sits at the top of the priority list. Sustainability is becoming a major selling point and in a race to reach zero net emissions, the spotlight shines brightly on tech companies emerging with clever solutions that not only mitigate environmental impact but also set new standards for industry practices.

ClearVue Technologies (ASX: CPV), particularly known for building solutions that integrate solar technology, uses solar PV cells incorporated around the edges of Insulated Glass Units and integrated proprietary nanoparticles and coatings within the interlayer to generate renewable energy. This technology has applications not only in building and construction but also in agriculture and other industries. As of June 2024, ClearVue achieved certifications from TÜV and Intertek. They also have actively worked on its Generation 2 product suite and developed new tools.

Recently, ClearVue has secured a second order of $175,000 from Greenhouse System USA (System USA) for ClearVue’s solar glazing to be used in their solar greenhouse project.

Martin Deil, Global CEO of ClearVue Technologies, said: “The global market for solar greenhouses is a critical part of our growth strategy. Our immediate focus is on the US market where we can leverage government incentives for renewable energy solutions in agriculture.

“We are thrilled to extend our relationship with System USA, a company that’s paving the way for sustainable agriculture. This repeat order validates our technology and strengthens our relationship with a key player in the US greenhouse industry. Our unique solar glass will enable System USA to show how our technology in System USA greenhouse solutions can provide sustainable, year-round crop production, while reducing reliance on fossil fuels and lowering energy costs.

“ClearVue’s range of solar glazing products helps reduce the carbon footprint of construction and offers significant energy cost savings, making it an attractive option for the agricultural sector,”

A repeat order has reinforced the partnership between two companies and highlighted the rising interest in ClearVue’s solutions. This focus on the solar greenhouse market is aligned with ClearVue’s growth strategy, particularly in the US, where government incentives promote renewable energy adoption in agriculture. ClearVue’s solar glass technology aims to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower energy costs, facilitating sustainable year-round crop production.

Peter Fryn, President of System USA, said: “Our experience with ClearVue’s solar glazing technology has clearly been positive. We are excited to further integrate ClearVue’s solutions into our greenhouse projects. This second order marks another step forward in our partnership and commitment to sustainable agriculture.”

In March 2022, ClearVue and Nodis teamed up to create a smart window solution for the US Air Force.  Together, their windows would give the Air Force better control over light and infrared entering buildings, while also generating renewable energy. This helped the Air Force reduce its carbon footprint and become more sustainable.

In 2023, ClearVue expanded to HongKong and explored carbon neutrality through smart technologies. ClearVue installed solar glazing panels at the government headquarters and evaluated their performance compared to conventional glazing.

With a cash balance of approximately $6.07 million, reported in March 2024, ClearVue also raised $7.72 million (before costs) during the quarter through a placement, share purchase plan, and at-the-market facility. In early 2024, an independent study conducted by BRAYN consulting reported that ClearVue products’ qualify for US federal tax incentives, effectively narrowing up to 60% of the deployment costs of ClearVue products’ in eligible projects, if specific bonus requirements are being met.
