Good Drinks celebrates St Patrick’s Day with exclusive Irish cider import deal

As popularity of cider has increased significantly over the past few years, alcoholic beverage company Good Drinks Australia (ASX: GDA) has partnered with Irish brewer C&C Group for the exclusive right to represent Magners Irish Cider in Australia.

The deal will provide Good Drinks with the exclusive rights to import and distribute the range of Magners Original Cider in Australia, increasing their presence as the leading independent supplier to the national beer, cider and liquor market.

“There couldn’t be a better day to announce this partnership, on St Patrick’s Day. We’re proud to partner with Magners Irish Cider and onboard such a well-regarded range of brands into our portfolio,” said Good Drinks Australia Managing Director, John Hoedemaker.

“The partnership is in line with our broader strategy and continues to add diversity to our portfolio. It also allows Good Drinks to increase the scale of its national sales capability, while leveraging its reach.

“Magners has a significant history and is a truly global business. The decision to partner with Good Drinks Australia is a further vote in confidence in our national sales and marketing team.”

Under the 3-year deal, Good Drinks will commence distribution of the range in its 330ml bottles, 568ml bottles and 49.5L kegs where Australia will join the network of more than 40 nations that import Magners Irish Cider.

Magners will then be available within venues operated by Good Drinks, as well as through their national distribution network which covers national chains, independent retailers and on-premise hospitality venues.

Having been one of the beneficiaries from the listing of pandemic-related lockdowns, Good Drinks Australia reported $32.8m in revenue for the half year ended 31 December 2021, a 16% increase on the previous corresponding period.

Numbers should see a further boost in the Company’s full year results however, with the opening of their flagship venue Gage Roads Freo in January 2022.
