Kanmantoo’s Output Surges as Operations Strengthen
Hillgrove Resources (ASX:HGO) has delivered a record-breaking month at its Kanmantoo Copper Mine, producing 1,105 tonnes of copper in February 2025. This marks the highest monthly production since the site began processing underground material in February 2024, reinforcing the mine’s steady operational improvement.
CEO Highlights Operational Gains
Hillgrove CEO and Managing Director, Bob Fulker, attributes this strong performance to ongoing optimisation efforts.
“I am pleased to report continued improvement in our mine physicals, which has seen a record achieved for copper production in February, despite it being a 28-day month,” Fulker said.
“In addition, there were record daily averages for both development and ore mining. The excellent operational delivery in these key metrics shows our continual improvement and debottlenecking of the mine that is delivering tangible results.”
Production Metrics Show Strong Growth
Hillgrove processed 116,000 tonnes of ore at a 1.01 per cent copper grade, achieving an impressive 94.2 per cent recovery rate. These figures not only reflect the company’s increasing efficiency but also represent a clear step up from previous months.
Kanmantoo’s Outlook Remains Strong
February’s performance builds on an already strong start to the year, following a standout January. With sustained improvements, Hillgrove remains on track to achieve its 12,000-14,000 tonnes copper production target for calendar year 2025.
“The mine performance will continue to strengthen as we accelerate the development of Nugent,” Fulker added.
As Hillgrove pushes forward, investors will be watching closely to see how production trends evolve and whether the company can further increase output in 2026.
