Australia’s aged care sector is under increasing pressure from rising costs, workforce shortages and more complex resident needs. As providers look to improve efficiency and care outcomes, technology-enabled models, particularly those using data and real-time monitoring, are becoming central to future service delivery.
InteliCare Holdings (ASX:ICR) has secured a major contract in this space, signing a five-year agreement with MECWA Limited to deploy its platform across 22 residential aged care facilities.
Executive Director Tim Chapman saw the deal as a turning point for the company:
“This agreement represents a defining milestone for InteliCare.”
Secures Largest Contract to Date
The agreement carries a projected total contract value of approximately $8.8 million, making it InteliCare’s largest deployment to date.
Under the five-year Master Subscription Agreement, the company will roll out its analytics, sensor, alerts and nurse call platform across mecwacare’s residential aged care network, servicing around 1,600 residents.
Mr Chapman highlighted the significance of the partnership:
“Securing a five-year agreement with mecwacare validates the scalability of our platform and confirms that data-driven, real-time intelligence is becoming foundational to the future of aged care.”
Deployment will be staged over the contract term, subject to individual facility order forms.
Builds on Successful Pilot Program
The agreement follows a pilot program at mecwacare’s Trescowthick Centre, where the platform was deployed across a 60-resident facility.
The pilot achieved ratings of “meets or exceeds expectations” across all 11 success criteria, covering clinical outcomes, reliability and operational performance.
The platform was integrated with existing clinical management and nurse call systems during the pilot.
Demonstrates Operational Impact
The pilot delivered measurable operational and clinical outcomes, including 100% fall detection accuracy and a significant reduction in overnight welfare checks.
It also enabled consolidation of multiple data streams into a single dashboard and automated reporting processes.
Supports Sector Transformation
The agreement also establishes a broader strategic partnership between InteliCare and mecwacare, focused on innovation, data insights and future care models.
This includes collaboration on analytics, knowledge sharing and potential expansion into at-home care services.
Positions InteliCare for Long-Term Growth
The five-year agreement includes a multi-component revenue model spanning hardware, implementation services and recurring SaaS fees, alongside ongoing support and maintenance.
With a large-scale rollout underway and a strategic partnership in place, InteliCare is positioning its platform at the centre of a sector increasingly focused on data-driven, technology-enabled care delivery.
