41 year old Hugh Honey has had perhaps the biggest win of the FIFA World Cup so far.
After being peer pressured by his soccer-loving mates into attending the Australia vs Denmark clash live at Federation Square in Melbourne, Honey was determined to walk away feeling like he belonged.
Despite more commonly remarking that the entire sport of soccer should be nominated for the Emmy’s each year, he decided to contain his remarks this time around knowing that his observations would not be shared.
Instead, he took a gamble. And after a Denmark fast break that got the crowd up in arms, Honey said “That’s offside isn’t it!?”. To which the hooligans in his vicinity vehemently agreed.
Honey played it cool and acted like the comment was nothing, but inside he was doing a front flip and boxing a mental corner flag.
He will now advance to the commenting quarter finals in which he will attempt to bemoan a coach’s lack of substitutions, opposition players diving and suggestions he could have done better than a player he does not know the name of.
