ScoMo vs AnAl, it’s the punniest political contest one editor will have the privilege of covering thanks to the widely accepted mashing of first and last names made popular by Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
Ever since ScoMo’s ascendance to office, political editors around the nation have been praying that Anthony Albanese rise up the Labor ranks with his similar AnAl moniker certain to appeal to a specific segment of voters.
“Based on our pre-campaign polling, a lot of voters are of the opinion that ScoMo is very scared of AnAl,” said political editor Hugh Honey.
“It’s going to be a painful campaign for ScoMo as he is probed by voters, peers and reporters for the next six weeks into the May 21 election.
“There’s quite a few electorates that ScoMo will want to penetrate but he’ll really need to butter them up, otherwise his appearances will just look stiff and cause him a world of pain.”
Honey has never been this excited to cover an election campaign before.
